Are big changes on the horizon for Siemens Healthineers?

Siemens is expected to list a minority of its healthcare division, Siemens Healthineers, in the first half of 2018. The division is looking to cut costs now ahead of the move.

The listing is expected to value Siemens Healthineers at approximately $49 billion, according to Reuters. The funds would help Siemens pay for “its own investments and acquisitions as the industry moves toward more personalized care.”

“Analysts have said they would be looking for clues on how Siemens plans to turn around the underperforming in vitro diagnostics business, which provides lab machinery to analyze blood, tissue or urine samples,” Reuters pointed out in its reporting.

Two sources familiar with the situation say the sale is planned for March.
