Bayer closing administrative offices in Robinson Township
Bayer will be closing its administrative offices in Robinson Township, Pennsylvania, affecting more than 500 jobs and another 96 contract positions. The decision comes months after Bayer announced that it will be laying off 12,000 workers by 2021.
The Robinson Township offices will be closed over the course of two years, according to a report from WTAE Pittsburgh. Frank Piccolino, manager of the township, indicated in the report that he was surprised by this news.
“Obviously, you’ve got a lot of families, lot of children affected by this,” Piccolino said, as quoted by WTAE Pittsburgh. “Township residents, the whole airport corridor, lots of families are affected.”
