Fujifilm Canada announces new division for diagnostic imaging solutions

Fujifilm Canada announced Thursday, April 11, that it has established a new division to help increase the availability and sales of the company’s diagnostic imaging systems throughout Canada.

Fujifilm Canada’s Medical Systems Division will be introducing a range of digital radiography and women’s health solutions to the market “in the near future,” according to a prepared statement.

“Fujifilm is a company of ‘firsts’ in diagnostic imaging,” Michio Kondo, president of FUJIFILM Canada, said in the statement. “In 1936, we began manufacturing x-ray films; and in 1983, we pioneered the first digitized radiography system in the world. We are honored to expand our presence in Canada with the launch of our Medical Systems Division.”

Christie Innomed has been the exclusive Canadian distributor of Fujifilm’s Synapse portfolio for 50 years now. That relationship will continue moving forward.

“The focus on our mission is as sharp as it has ever been and we remain dedicated to providing best in class, leading healthcare technologies from renowned manufacturers to enhance workflow and patient outcomes,” Martin Roy, president and CEO of Christie Innomed, said in the statement. “Our 50-year partnership with Fujifilm is a great testimonial of our true long-term commitment to delivering quality systems and healthcare IT solutions for our customers.”
