Great Lakes Medical Imaging expanding along with Erie County Medical Center

Great Lakes Medical Imaging, a private radiology practice with offices throughout Western New York, is expanding thanks in part to a contract with Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) in Buffalo, N.Y.

According to Buffalo Business First, the contract prompted Great Lakes Medical Imaging to hire eight new radiologists. The practice already served four Kaleida Health hospitals and multiple imaging centers, so the increase in staff helps provide ECMC patients with the care they need.

Sarah Glenn-Smith, Great Lakes Medical Imaging CEO, told Buffalo Business First that the company is looking at many other opportunities and is “poised to grow.”

Any new radiologists working with ECMC will notice the hospital’s radiology department is in the middle of a $3 million expansion, which will include two new CT scanners and a radiographic/fluoroscopic unit.
