Indiana program helps women who can't afford mammograms

HeartStrings Sisters, a nonprofit program started by Goshen Health in Goshen, Indiana, provides financial assistance to women who can’t afford mammograms.

Goshen News profiled the program this week, taking a close look at the work HeartStrings Sisters employees do to help women throughout the Goshen area.

“If I had known about this prior, I probably would not have put this off so long,” one patient helped by the program said, as quoted by writer Leandra Beabout. “The expense was dreading. I prolonged it. I put it off, put it off, put it off.”
