Norwalk Radiology Consultants launches new joint venture with health system

Connecticut-based Norwalk Radiology Consultants is launching a new joint venture partnership with a local hospital system.

The practice has already served as the exclusive professional services provider across Stamford Health’s inpatient and outpatient imaging locations since 2021. But the two now say they’re teaming to open a new joint venture location in the community of Norwalk, Connecticut.

Norwalk Radiology Consultants with Stamford Health will initially offer breast imaging but will later expand to deliver additional advanced diagnostic services. Both organizations said the “joint-practice management” arrangement will help them to improve efficiency and provide more competitive pricing.

We are proud to be expanding our relationship with NRC,” Liz Longmore, president of the joint venture’s board of directors and chief operating officer at Stamford Health, said in an April 1 announcement. “They have a longstanding and well-deserved reputation of offering expert, high-quality imaging services to the communities we serve.”

Stamford Health is a nonprofit, independent health system with more than 3,900 employees. The organization includes the 305-bed Stamford Hospital in its namesake Connecticut community and the Stamford Medical Group, which has over 40 offices in lower Fairfield County offering primary and specialty care. Norwalk Radiology Consultants, meanwhile, has been since 1985 and employs 16 physicians, according to its website.
