Radiology Partners continues to grow, adding two more practices to its portfolio
The nation’s largest radiology practice continues to grow, adding two more practices to its portfolio this month in Wisconsin and Tennessee.
Radiology Partners announced one of its latest partnerships on Dec. 18, adding Nashville-based Advance Diagnostic Imaging into the fold. ADI is one of the 30 largest practices in the U.S., employing 84 radiologists, with a presence in Tennessee, Wisconsin, Florida, Virginia and South Carolina.
“We are impressed by ADI’s commitment to clinical quality and technology investment aimed at reducing costs and improving care,” Radiology Partners CEO Rich Whitney said in a statement.
ADI also serves as the imaging services provider for 150-hospital behemoth Ascension, owning and operating 31 outpatient imaging centers, with several operated as joint venture partnerships alongside the Catholic health system. Radiology Partners said it will hold a minority partnership in these centers, which are located in the five aforementioned states.
In addition, the El Segundo, California-based provider announced another partnership with Radiology Associates of Appleton in Wisconsin. CEO Whitney said they targeted the Badger State business because of its reputation for high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic services, and longstanding relationships with hospital systems such as ThedaCare and Bellin Health.
“RP’s local governance model of one practice, locally led, and their focus on best-demonstrated practices to improve quality, matched with who we are as a practice,” Radiology Associates of Appleton President Tim Bernauer, MD, said in a separate statement. “We are encouraged by the progress RP has made towards improving care and measurements and the importance they place elevating radiology as a whole within the healthcare system.”
With these latest acquisitions, Radiology Partners now operates with more than 1,500 radiologists in 24 states. That includes nine of the top-30 largest practices in the U.S., according to the announcement.
