Rapid Radiology, a Lakeway, Texas-based radiology and telemedicine company, has announced the acquisition of Advanced Medical Imaging & Teleradiology (AMI). The terms of the deal were not made public.
Mike Spears, Rapid Radiology vice president, told RadiologyBusiness.com the company is thrilled to be starting off the year with this news.
“We’re happy to announce the acquisition of AMI, and feel it will help us to better serve our customers throughout the country,” Spears said.
Rapid Radiology provides its services to more than 18,000 facilities, including at least one in all 50 states.
Mergers and acquisitions within the imaging industry have become increasingly common in recent years, and this announcement is a sign that the trend may continue in 2016.
