Rayus Radiology inks partnership with US speedskating, bobsled, ski and snowboard teams

Rayus Radiology has inked a deal to serve as the official medical provider for the U.S. speedskating, bobsled, ski and snowboard teams.

The Minnesota-based imaging group already has provided care to these elite athletes for years and took their partnership to a national level in 2021. They’re now renewing the deal, the two announced Wednesday, with Rayus’ national team of radiologists’ working alongside team doctors and trainers to ensure athletes receive efficient care.

"We believe our approach to advanced diagnostic imaging has raised the bar in the industry, and we are honored to continue providing our knowledge and care to these remarkable athletes,” Rayus Radiology CEO Sami Abbasi, MBA, who joined the organization last year, said in a statement Jan. 28. “Their confidence in us mirrors the trust placed in us daily by patients nationwide, and we are committed to honoring that responsibility."

Rayus called the continued contract with three major winter sports organizations a “coup” for the company. It plans to leverage its hardware, imaging protocols and skilled technologists to deliver an “individually tailored care plan and concierge-level service” to the three organizations.

“Rayus continues to be an integral partner in managing our athletes’ health and performance,” Gillian Bower, director of high performance for US Ski & Snowboard, said in the announcement.

The renewal comes as the athletes prepare for the 2026 Winter Olympics, set to kick off Feb. 6 in Italy.
