Rivanna Medical’s Accuro highlighted during AORA presentation

Rivanna Medical, a medical technology company based out of Charlottesville, Va., announced that its Accuro device was recognized by Anand M. Sardesai, MD, during his presentation at the fifth annual Academy of Regional Anaesthesia (AORA) of India conference.

The presentation, which focused on advances in ultrasound technology, took place on Sept. 25.

Accuro, a handheld ultrasound device, guides clinicians as they use a needle or probe on various parts of a patient’s body. Its first commercial use is helping with the administration of spinal anesthesia into the epidural space.

“No doubt, Accuro is a disruptive, game-changing device platform technology,” John A. Williams, president and CEO of Rivanna Medical, said in a statement.

Rivanna Medical received FDA 510(k) clearance for Accuro back in July.
