UNLV, Desert Radiology partner to collaborate on business, research opportunities
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) and Desert Radiology, a nearby diagnostic imaging facility, signed an agreement on Thursday, Sept. 6, to provide imaging analysis services to study participants in university research.
The agreement, according to a prepared statement issued by UNLV, will also generate new business for Desert Radiology, which employs 70 radiologists and more than 480 clinical and support personnel, while providing radiology services for 13 area hospitals.
The partnership will specifically support research conducted in UNLV's school of allied health sciences and medicine that requires imaging. One such project includes examining the efficacy of a physical therapy regimen in children using imaging data.
“We’re pleased to work together with UNLV to provide quality diagnostics,” said Matthew Grimes, COO of Desert Radiology. “This new partnership reinforces Desert Radiology’s ongoing commitment and support of the Southern Nevada community.”
