The Certified Radiology Administrator exam is getting an update

The exam for the Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) credential is being updated to ensure it better aligns with today’s imaging landscape.

AHRA recently shared that the exam will debut a new format starting in the fall. It has been reworked to better reflect the challenges today’s imaging leaders face. The revised content outline includes streamlined task and knowledge statements and updated healthcare and leadership concepts. It also will reduce the emphasis on procedural skills, instead shifting focus toward how to apply knowledge in real-world administrative scenarios.

An updated version of the AHRA Professional Development Textbook Series and additional reference materials will soon be available to coincide with the CRA exam changes. Updated content guidelines can be found here

The updated exam form will establish a new passing benchmark, which will delay the release of scores until January 2027. As a result, exam fees in the fall will be offered at half price. Fall exam candidates also will receive a discount on their new textbooks.
