Radiologist to speak at St. Louis Art Museum about using modern imaging techniques on mummies

Imaging techniques have long been used to study ancient artifacts, providing radiology with a bit of mainstream attention, and an upcoming exhibition in St. Louis is continuing that trend.

Michelle Miller-Thomas, MD, an assistant professor of radiology from the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, was interviewed by local TV network Fox 2 KTVI to discuss an upcoming Mummy Symposium at the St. Louis Art Museum. At the event, Miller-Thomas will discuss how modern medical imaging techniques are used to help scientists learn more about mummies and other ancient artifacts.

The event takes place Friday, Feb. 16, at 7 p.m. local time.
