University Radiology Group names Ziemke CEO
University Radiology Group, one of the largest private radiology practices in the US, announced today that it has hired Bill Ziemke, J.D., LL.M., CPA, MBA, to be its next Chief Executive Officer.
Bill joins URG with experience in radiology practice management, and also in industries including banking and manufacturing. Bill spent five years as the CEO of Advanced Radiology, a multi-state, multi-site radiology practice in Michigan, with over 100 physicians. Prior to Advanced, Bill was the Vice President of the Wealth Management Division of Fifth Third Bank.
“Bill is ideally suited to lead University Radiology Group. His breath of experience in practice management, coupled with his extensive academic background gives him a unique understanding of emerging radiology trends, as well as an understanding of the needs of our patients, our referring clinicians and our hospital partners”, said Rob Epstein, MD, Chairman of URG. “Bill is the right choice to lead URG as it continues to evolve and grow”.
Bill was recruited to succeed the current CEO, Tom Dunlap MBA, who is retiring after 26 years of service. Tom guided URG’s transformation from a 22 radiologist group practice with 2 hospitals and 3 imaging offices, to the fifth largest private radiology practice in the US with over 120 radiologists, 15 outpatient imaging centers and 8 hospital contracts. “Tom is a true visionary and has guided URG with great success over the past 26 years. On behalf of the URG Board of Directors and our physicians, I would like to sincerely thank Tom for his dedication and service to University Radiology Group” said Epstein.
Bill received his BBA from Western Michigan University in Accounting. He received his J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law. He then went on to obtain his LL.M. in Taxation from Wayne State University School of Law and finally his MBA from the University of Notre Dame. Bill is a member of the Pennsylvania and the Michigan Bar; and he has a CPA license.
Bill will begin his role on January 5, 2015.
