DITTA praises new NEMA standard
DITTA, a global trade association for the diagnostic imaging, radiation therapy, healthcare IT, electromedical and radiopharmaceutical industries, issued a statement this week welcoming the publication of the Good Refurbishment Practices for Medical Imaging Equipment document by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA).
DITTA said the standard “builds on years of work by DITTA members.”
“This standard is built on best practices gained from industry experience for refurbishment performed over decades,” Satoshi Kimura, KITTA chair, said in a prepared statement. ”It ensures that refurbishment results in equipment meeting the intended use, performance and safety specifications as defined by the original manufacturer, and will lead to improved patient access to advanced healthcare.”
The standard was first published in February. It can be downloaded for free on the NEMA website.
