Sexual harassment lawsuit includes claim that hospital cancelled veterans’ imaging exams
The James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital in Tampa, Florida, is being investigated for allegedly canceling hundreds of imaging exams without following safety regulations and then attempting to cover it up.
The initial claim that the hospital did this came as part of a lawsuit filed by four radiology technicians, according to a new report from the Tampa Bay Times. The plaintiffs said patient care was affected when exams were canceled and did not take place for more than 60 days. The lawsuit did not claim that patients were directly harmed as a result of the cancellations.
The lawsuit in question, filed in August 2016, also claimed that the four radiology technicians had been victims of sexual harassment since 2008 and were punished for complaining about their treatment. Court documents show that the hospital has denied those allegations, the Tampa Bay Times noted in its reporting.
