ASRT donates $10,000 to American Red Cross for Harvey relief, recovery

The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) announced Tuesday it would be donating $10,000 to the American Red Cross to help Texas recover from the damage caused by Tropical Storm Harvey.

“The hurricane has devastated parts of Texas and people are in need of immediate support,” Michael Latimer, ASRT chairman of the board, said in a prepared statement. “By providing a donation to the Red Cross, we’re confident that individuals affected by the hurricane will receive support that will help them get their lives back in order.”

ASRT is also researching how many radiologic technologists have been impacted by the hurricane. Sal Martino, EdD, ASRT CEO and executive director, said in the same statement the organization is “going to work hard to provide as much support as possible.”
