Merge Healthcare, AIM Specialty Health partner for prior authorization

Merge Healthcare and AIM Specialty Health announced this week that they will partner to streamline the prior authorization process providers encounter when obtaining imaging studies. The collaboration will allow providers to access AIM Specialty Health’s radiology benefits management programs from within Merge’s iConnect Network Services technology.

“Our mission is to make healthcare more appropriate, safe and affordable,” Brandon Cady, AIM Specialty Health president and CEO, said in a statement. “Our collaboration with Merge is intended to significantly help both providers and payers by consolidating and connecting critical aspects of the current prior authorization process in a ‘one stop shop’ platform while offering providers a convenient way to access AIM’s programs.”

According to Merge, the iConnect Network Services now serves more than 42 million patients as a result of this partnership.

The collaboration is scheduled to begin in early 2016.

Earlier this week, Merge and eviCore Healthcare announced a similar arrangement.
