Protocol-management software vendor climbs aboard GE Health Cloud

Iowa City-based Radiology Protocols has announced its collaboration with GE in expanding the utility of the GE Health Cloud platform.

Under the partnership, Radiology Protocols will make its protocol-management software available to hospitals and other providers using any of GE’s half-million or so installed medical imaging devices.

In its announcement, Radiology Protocols says its software provides a customizable, scalable, HIPAA-secure solution to document, organize and tailor imaging protocols.

Radiology Protocols was among seven independent software vendors and two large systems integrators GE announced as Health Cloud partners at HIMSS earlier this week.

Stephen Baker, the company’s founder and president, says in prepared remarks that the collaboration “will allow for standardization of imaging protocols across integrated delivery networks, resulting in better utilization, sharing of best practices and improved patient care.”
