Ultrasound tech sees big business in stuffed animals
Purusha River knew what she wanted to do the minute she saw it. Just 19 years old, River went with a friend for her fetal ultrasound. The next day, River changed her major and pursued a career in ultrasound technology.
"Not long after, the obstetrician and I decided to start a small side business doing 3D ultrasounds out of the office," she wrote in Business News Daily. "I was scheduling a customer when I was asked if we had the stuffed animals that could record a baby's heartbeat. I instantly fell in love with the idea and embarked on a mission to find these heartbeat animals."
Eventually deciding to produce these animals herself, River hopes what was a side gig will become a $1 million business this year.
