Developer eyes possibilities in digital specimen radiography

Kubtec Digital X-ray, a small Milford, Conn.-based outfit, has developed digital specimen radiography systems that may offer more imaging technology options for a wider variety of patients.

“Kubtec is based on cutting edge technology of digital X-ray," said Vikram Butani, the company's CEO and founder. "What we bring is the ability to do the highest resolution images with as low as radiation dose as is possible."

The company supplies products including;

  • The FDA approved MOZART System with TomoSpec Technology, a breast specimen tomosynthesis system.
  • The KUB 250 System, which minimizes radiation exposure and limits cross-contamination babies in neonatal intensive care.

The MOZART System, a part of Kubtec s2DXPERT digital specimen X-ray systems, is designed to meet the imaging requirements for core needle biopsies, surgically excised breast tissue and excised organ and bone specimens the system is able to increase efficiency and reduce production time which leads to better care quality.

The KUB 250 System is able to produce images for the smallest patients with the lowest dose of any digital radiography (DR) detector. As a mobile system, the KUB 250 System is able to transmit high resolution, high contrast images in a faster and more efficient manner.

The range of different products allows Kubtec to meet a variety of needs from patients, whether it’s small animal imaging or NDT, non-isotope-based irradiation, quality control or forensic analysis.
