Mount Sinai Queens opens new outpatient imaging facility

Mount Sinai Queens in Queens, N.Y., has opened a brand new outpatient imaging facility, Mount Sinai Queens Imaging.

The facility offers PET/CT, MRI, ultrasound, x-ray and mammography. Images are read by radiologists who belong to the faculty at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, N.Y.  

“Using cutting-edge technology, our expert team of radiologists is able to diagnose conditions in their earliest stages enabling us to treat our patients more effectively than ever before,” Darren Fitzpatrick, MD, assistant professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and chief of radiology at Mount Sinai Queens, said in a prepared statement. “We are now able to provide radiology services to everyone, from women who need mammograms to anyone with a prescription from their doctor.”

“As Mount Sinai Queens continues to grow, we are expanding the role we play in all aspects of our neighbors’ health, from doctor visits and imaging tests to outpatient surgery and cancer care,” Caryn A. Schwab, Mount Sinai Queens executive director, said in the same statement. “Our state-of-the-art imaging facility is one more way for us to keep the residents of western Queens healthy and out of the hospital.”
