A radiologist in Australia had his medical registration canceled by the Medical Board of Australia after it was revealed he was facing sexual assault charges in the United States.

ABC News in Australia reported that the radiologist in question, Max Mehta, allegedly “groomed” a 15-year-old deaf girl for sex online in Texas in 2004, scheduling a meeting with her in person. When he arrived at the location, however, he was met by a police officer and charged with criminal solicitation of a minor to commit sexual assault of a child.

Mehta skipped bail and fled, and was working as “Robert Taylor” in Perth, Western Australia, Australia, until his medical license was suspended in 2015. He had been trying to get his license reinstated ever since, denying the charges against him, before the Medical Board of Australia made its decision official.

According to the report from ABC News, the U.S. government is “in the process of issuing an international arrest warrant.”
