The Month in Review

Editor's Note:

July marked Medicare’s annual tradition of “robbing Peter to pay Paul,” as one industry watcher put it, with CMS announcing yet another round of cuts to radiology. This time, the diagnostic side of the specialty stands to lose about 4% in 2024 at a time when practices are still grappling with inflation, rising patient volumes and historic hiring challenges. Radvocates are now working with the AMA to help fix the flawed formula that’s driving these decisions. Hopefully, this will finally put an end to the yearly feelings of dread that come with CMS’ announcement. As always, thanks for reading. Enjoy the little bit of summer we have left.—Marty Stempniak, Editor
