The institution has reportedly suspended multiple members of its staff and is implementing shift-change procedures in the wake of the incident. 

Edward Wolfgang Lee, MD, PhD, believes he is the specialty's only physician to perform a key life-saving, minimally invasive procedure on a child. 

The recall is due to an issue with the software that could make the viewer vulnerable to security threats and data manipulation. 

The Amsterdam-based imaging giant is working with the AI powerhouse to create an AI-generated preview of MRI scans, before the acquisition even begins. 

The American College of Radiology recently gathered 25 different medical societies to discuss how to save academic radiology. 

The bill is endorsed by the American Medical Association, American Hospital Association and numerous others in the industry. 

GE previously noted that the acquisition was a reflection of the company’s “continued commitment to cloud-enabled and AI-powered solutions.” 

The hope is that the new service will open the door for patients to undergo treatment and diagnostic exams locally instead of having to travel long distances. 

Imaging groups recently conveyed their concerns to Health and Human Services in a letter submitted March 16. 

“With generative AI becoming more capable of producing remarkably convincing radiology reports, there’s a greater risk of fabricated reports being used to falsify medical histories and support fraudulent claims,” the team cautioned.
