National Breast Cancer Foundation announces inaugural awards luncheon
The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) has announced its inaugural 2018 Women of Hope Awards luncheon.
The event will feature Lillie D. Shockney, RN, BS, MAS, a two-time breast cancer survivor, director of the Johns Hopkins Breast Center and director of the cancer survivorship programs at the Johns Hopkins Cancer Center in Baltimore, as the keynote speaker.
The nomination categories for the 2018 Women of Hope Awards include Advocate of the Year, Caregiver of the Year, Courage/Survivor of the Year, Medical Professional of the Year, and Legacy/Family of the Year.
To be considered for the 2018 Women of Hope Awards, nominees must have provided “significant leadership and contribution” to the North Texas community throughout their career and live or work in the Texan counties of Collin or Denton.
NBFC’s stated mission is “to provide and help inspire hope to those affected by breast cancer through early detection, education and support services.” The 2018 Women of Hope Awards will be held May 10 in Frisco, Texas. Nominations may be submitted on NBCF’s website.
