Women’s Golf Day founder discusses her fight against breast cancer
Elisa Gaudet, a well-known golf writer and founder of the annual Women’s Golf Day initiative, is using her public platform to raise breast cancer awareness.
A recent article in Golfweek told Gaudet’s story in detail. She had a mammogram, heard back that everything looked great—and then, 13 days later, ended up in a hospital due to a freak accident. While she was there, a doctor found a tumor that turned out to be breast cancer.
More complications followed, but Gaudet remained strong. And she now uses Women’s Golf Day—which takes place this year on June 5—to help share her own story with the thousands of women who participate.
