RADPAC pledges support for 2 radiologists running for Congress
RADPAC, the American College of Radiology Association’s federal political action committee, is supporting two radiologists in their campaigns for Congress: Steve Sevigny, MD, a Democrat from Florida, and Steve Ferrara, MD, a Republican from Arizona.
Sevigny launched his campaign in January and is running to represent Florida’s 6th District. Ferrara, who announced his campaign back in May 2017, is running to represent Arizona’s 9th District. Both candidates will be aiming to replace an incumbent now seeking higher office.
Ted Burns, RADPAC’s director, said in a prepared statement that the committee is happy to support candidates from either political party.
“The party label does not matter to RADPAC,” Burnes said. “What matters when supporting radiologist candidates is the credibility of their candidacy. Do they have a realistic path to victory? Are they willing to work with the College and the radiology community on issues important to the profession and for patients?”
