FDA green-lights VuCOMP’s digital mammo CAD

VuCOMP has received FDA premarket approval for version 2 of its M-Vu CAD [computer-assisted detection] system for digital mammography.

M-Vu meets FDA guidelines that recommend comprehensive reader studies proving that radiologists are more effective when they use CAD, according to a press release from the Plano, Tex.-based company.

M-Vu CAD is approved for digital mammography systems manufactured by Carestream Health, Fujifilm Medical Systems, GE Healthcare, Giotto, Hologic, Konica Minolta, Philips Healthcare, Planmed and Siemens Healthcare.
