Konica Minolta partnering with one of the largest teleradiology practices in the US

Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas has just partnered with one of the largest teleradiology providers in the U.S.

The imaging solutions leader announced its collaboration with Transparent Imaging on Thursday. The latter will be implementing Exa Teleradiology, Powered by NewVue, into its operations.

Exa Teleradiology is a cloud-native, artificial intelligence-powered solution that was designed to streamline radiologists’ workflows. It comes equipped with an AI-curated work list, a “radiologist cockpit” for collaborative interpretations, and a specialized Exa Viewer that allows readers to access images from anywhere without requiring additional downloads or plug-ins.

Co-founder of Transparent Imaging, Eric Ledermann, DO, MBA, expressed optimism for how the solution can improve the workflows.

“Our practice is committed to delivering precise reads and subspecialty expertise for better patient care,” Ledermann said in an announcement. “Exa Teleradiology helps us achieve our mission by providing a simplified and streamlined radiologist experience with workflow orchestration, specialty viewer and AI reporting from a single workspace."

The Exa Platform can be integrated across multiple systems and facilities. Multiple sites can work on the same single work list, giving providers the ability to prioritize the most pertinent exams first, even if they are not present at the facility where the exam took place. The AI-enabled Radiology Workflow Orchestrator also ensures that exams intended for specific radiologists (those requiring a breast specialist, for example) are routed to the appropriate reader.

Transparent Imaging currently distributes work to more than 200 radiologists, who collectively read over 1 million imaging exams per year. Radiology Business recently discussed the company’s growing presence with the its founding leaders; that interview can be read in full here
