Lexmark Buys PACSGEAR for $54 Million

In order to improve Lexmark’s Perceptive healthcare content management and workflow solutions and vendor neutral archive (VNA), Lexmark International has acquired leading PACS connectivity platform PACSGEAR for a cash purchase price of approximately $54 million. "With this acquisition, Perceptive is uniquely positioned to manage the entire range of content within the health care enterprise," said Scott Coons, CEO and president of Perceptive Software, and vice president, Lexmark, in the press release announcing the purchase. PACSGEAR offers a popular healthcare technology solution for the capture, management and integration documents, film and video, visible light and other images from any department with any PACS or EMR. Well-known PACSGEAR users include the large health systems Kaiser Permanente, Henry Ford Health System, Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), Mount Sinai Hospital, Stanford Hospital & Clinics, and The University of Chicago Medical Center.
