Sectra signs $21M enterprise imaging contract with large US medical center

Sectra has signed a $21 million enterprise imaging contract with a large U.S. medical center, the Sweden-based IT and cybersecurity vendor announced Tuesday.

The unidentified institution will utilize the Sectra One Cloud—a fully managed, cloud-based image storage service—seeking to improve workflows across its radiology, breast imaging, cardiology and orthopedic departments.

"Especially in radiology, efficient workflows are essential to handle the growing volume of exams with limited resources,” Isaac Zaworski, president of Sectra Inc., said in an Aug. 26 announcement. “At the same time, consolidating imaging across multiple specialties and moving to a single, cloud-based system simplifies IT operations, reduces the burden on IT teams, and lowers exposure to cyberthreats.”

Sectra, which revealed the amount of the contract but not the name of its client, said it signed the five-year deal during the first quarter of its fiscal year. About $20 million of the agreement is fully guaranteed. As part of the pact, the vendor will monitor, optimize and upgrade the cloud-based solution while providing 24/7 support.
