Southeast hospital system inks $46M enterprise imaging deal with Sectra
A large U.S. health system in the Southeast has inked a $46 million enterprise imaging deal with vendor Sectra, the company announced Thursday.
The Sweden-based imaging IT and cybersecurity firm said it will deliver its storage solution as a fully managed cloud service to multiple sites. Sectra said this will allow the unnamed hospital group to enhance diagnostic speed and collaboration between departments, along with helping it to scale imaging services.
"We see a clear trend among large healthcare providers toward consolidating systems across sites to improve efficiency, reduce complexity and enhance collaboration. At the same time, cybersecurity has become a critical priority, with growing demands to protect patient data and ensure system availability,” Isaac Zaworski, president of Sectra Inc., said in a Nov. 13 announcement.
Sectra will monitor, optimize and upgrade the imaging system as part of the fully managed contract. It said the solution can be scaled to help accommodate growth as imaging volumes continue to climb. About $44.1 million of the contract is fully guaranteed, the company noted.
This comes after Sectra also announced that hospitals around Stockholm and Gotland, Sweden, will consolidate into one enterprise imaging system. Providers in the region already have used the company’s image management tools for two decades. However, they'll now all consolidate to a single system seeking to reduce complexity and enhance security, Sectra said Oct. 27. The contract is worth approximately $169 million USD during the 10-year period with the possibility of an extension, Sectra reported.
