Fujifilm Presents Latest Healthcare IT technologies at 2014 Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM)

Stamford, Conn., May 12, 2014 (Booth #330-334)  – FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc., will present its comprehensive Synapse portfolio for IT professionals at the 2014 annual meeting of the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) in Long Beach, California from May 15-17, 2014.  The Synapse family of products combined provides management of the complete patient record, ensuring diagnostic integrity while providing fast, secure access to clinical users via web platforms or mobile devices.

“Integration of all imaging types and formats with the EMR from a centralized repository is rapidly underway,” said Jim Morgan, vice president of Medical Informatics, FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. “This trend has led to the adoption of Synapse VNA and Mobility in some of the largest hospital networks in the country.”

Visit SIIM booth #330-334 to learn more about Fujifilm’s offerings through live demonstrations and opportunities for face-to-face conversations. Following is a summary of offerings:

The cornerstone of Fujifilm’s integrated solution is Synapse PACS. Two main goals – enhanced communication and optimized productivity for radiologists in any imaging environment – were the impetus behind its development.

The next generation of Synapse RIS, the most advanced Radiology Information System on the market today, will also be shown. Synapse RIS and PACS integrate seamlessly, allowing the radiologist to see scanned documents and history from within the PACS, and allowing the user to see images from within the RIS. The system has also received EHR certification, enabling it to be part of the Meaningful Use initiative that provides financial incentives to medical professionals who use a certified EHR.

Fujifilm has also announced the integration of vendor neutral architecture (VNA) into its Synapse portfolio. Synapse VNA provides the platform to interface and integrate the data generated by these systems, and provide actionable intelligence. Synapse VNA will enhance image management, streamline workflow, reduce costs and, most importantly, improve patient care. It can be implemented within any environment and offers data access and availability.  The archive allows sharing and consolidation of the storage and provides secure access across all authorized users.

Synapse VNA provides a unified viewing experience for the VNA DICOM and non-DICOM data. The Synapse VNA solution also embraces the importance of fast access to content through a zero download single viewing solution capable by displaying any content within the VNA securely to any desktop, mobile device, or through EMR with Synapse Mobility.
