Hospital breaks ground on $45M new imaging center
A Texas hospital has broken ground on a $45 million new imaging center, expected to be completed by December 2026.
Wichita Falls-based United Regional Health Care System recently announced the construction project’s kickoff, noting its desire to remain “responsive to the needs of our community.” The two-story, 53,000-square-foot facility will feature the latest in imaging innovation, in a “setting thoughtfully designed for both comfort and convenience.”
“Our expert technologists will continue to deliver high-quality imaging with accuracy and compassion, while self-scheduling options and streamlined access to services and results will ensure an experience that respects your time and health priorities,” the health system said in an announcement.
United Regional held a groundbreaking ceremony Oct. 15 at the site, located at 12th and Alma streets in the northern Texas community, about 115 miles south of Fort Worth. It will offer the full range of advanced imaging services while also incorporating a retail pharmacy. The latter will help streamline the process for patients to acquire their discharge medications, reducing hospital readmissions.
“It’s really designed as a state-of-the-art facility with cutting-edge, advanced imaging technology,” Mark Wright, United Regional’s director of radiology, told a local news outlet. “It will allow us better access, more access, and really the most advanced access to our patients, so that we can provide excellent patient care. The imaging center is really focused on patient services—streamlining services so patients can get everything done in one location.”
United Regional includes a 296-bed hospital, also operating a physician group, cancer center and more, altogether handling about 86,000 outpatient visits annually.
