Community hospital rekindles partnership with radiology practice it left previously

Auburn Community Hospital in Cayuga County, New York, has reignited its relationship with a radiology practice it had parted ways with previously.

The 99-bed facility recently announced its relaunched partnership with St. Lawrence Radiology Associates, of Watertown, New York. Beginning Jan. 1, the two providers will mark a “return to a trusted collaboration,” led by St. Lawrence President G. Michael Maresca, MD.

Interventional radiologist Jubin Jacob, MD, will serve as new chair of the radiology department, relocating to Auburn to establish a local residency program.

“The Auburn Radiology team is extremely talented, and the administration has invested in state-of-the-art technology to provide the highest level of care for the local community,” Jacob said in a Dec. 14 announcement.

St. Lawrence will provide the full range of diagnostic and interventional radiology services, along with after-hours, nighthawk reading. The University of Rochester Medical Center had been reading and reporting exams for Auburn Community Hospital, previously supplanting St. Lawrence Radiology Associates.

“We are confident that this will be a seamless transition, and a welcome addition to our community,” hospital CEO Scott Berlucchi said in the announcement.
