Hospital system joint venture will launch 1 of state’s largest new imaging facilities
A new joint venture will launch one of the largest imaging facilities in mid-Michigan, those involved announced recently.
Michigan State University is partnering with 15-hospital McLaren Health Care to open the “state of the art,” 22,632 square-foot facility. Under the deal, MSU Health Care will relocate its imaging services to the new outpatient facility, located in the Izzo Family Medical Center on the McLaren Greater Lansing Health Care Campus.
The center will include four wide-bore MRIs and upgraded PET and CT scanners, allowing for shorter exam times, MSU said in a June 13 announcement.
“Using the latest advancements in imaging technology will enable us to meet the growing demands of our community and will reduce patient wait times while maintaining exceptional image quality,” said John Kraft, service line director at McLaren Greater Lansing.
The two organization also plan to offer extended hours and weekend appointments at the outpatient imaging center, which is slated to open on June 26.
