lifeIMAGE names new president, CEO

lifeIMAGE, a Newton, Mass.-based medical image interoperability company, has named Matthew A. Michela its new president and CEO.

Most recently, Michela was the COO of Healthways. Previously, he was co-founder, president, and COO of Care Management International.

“Some of the impressive qualities drawing me to lifeIMAGE include the quality of its team, its blue-chip client roster and its position as the country’s largest, most utilized network for sharing medical imaging information,” Michela said in a statement. “The company delivers exactly what the ailing healthcare system desperately needs: secure, interoperable image exchange that improves the quality of patient care while wringing unnecessary costs out of the system.”

Hamid Tabatabaie, lifeIMAGE co-founder and board member, led the search for a new CEO and said he is looking forward to working together with Michela to “fully realize the lifeIMAGE vision.”

“Matt has a demonstrated ability to build high-powered teams, transform operations, and successfully scale organizations,” Tabatabaie said in the same statement.
