RACC accepting nominations for its public commissioner

The Radiology Administration Certification Commission (RACC) is now accepting nominations for its public commissioner position, which will be a three-year term and a maximum of two terms.

The RACC Public Commissioner will determine policies with regards to the certified radiology administrator (CRA) program, including certification eligibility requirements, recertification criteria and continuing education (CE) requirements. The commissioner will manage the CRA appeal and disciplinary processes “to maintain the integrity of the CRA program in protecting the public.”

“The Radiology Administration Certification Commission strives to be nationally recognized as the preferred standard for excellence in medical imaging management,” the RACC’s vision statement reads. “We will provide value for CRAs and create a challenging but attainable aspiration for individuals who wish to be known for their excellence in the imaging management profession.”

Among other requirements, the public member cannot be a current member of the medical imaging services profession, a current or former certified radiology administrator, or have worked for or provided contract services to the RACC at any time during the five years preceding appointment as a public member on the RACC.
