Radiologists gift $150,000 toward hospital system’s new emergency room
One of the largest radiology practices in the state of New Jersey is donating $150,000 in support of a hospital’s new emergency department.
University Radiology is donating the funds to Hackensack Meridian Health and its foundation, which will go toward construction of a $39 million new ED in Old Bridge, New Jersey. Raritan Bay Medical Center recently broke ground on the new center that’s set to open in October with new onsite equipment and diagnostic technology, according to a Hackensack announcement.
Officials at the 13-hospital system said the radiologists’ donation and ED fundraising is part of a much larger drive called “Giving Heals.” It’s targeting four specific initiatives, officials said, including strengthening oncology services, improving clinical outcomes, enhancing the patient experience and broadening clinical research.
“It is our honor to be able to support this historic and important project,” says Martin Bieber, CEO of University Radiology. “We applaud the Hackensack Meridian Health network and Raritan Bay Medical Center as they are making significant investments to provide the best clinical care to their patients.”
University Radiology said it is the largest provider of radiology services in New Jersey, employing 140 imaging experts, with proficiency across all modalities. In business for more than a half century, its radiologists support nine affiliated regional healthcare providers and 21 of their own imaging centers, interpreting more than 1.8 million scans annually.
