Radiology Business Management Association elects new board members

CHAMPIONSGATE, Fla. — The Radiology Business Management Association on Tuesday announced its newly elected board of directors for the 2026-2027 term.

Stacy Sanso—director of patient access for ARA Diagnostic Imaging, the Austin, Texas, affiliate of Radiology Partners—takes over as board president of the association. She succeeds 2025-2026 President Jamie Dyer, MBA, chief outpatient operations officer for Central Oregon Radiology Associates, in Bend.

Sanso spoke briefly on April 14 during the closing keynote of the trade group’s 2026 annual “PaRADigm” meeting, being held in Championsgate, Florida.

“I am incredibly honored to serve as the RBMA president,” she read from prepared remarks. “This organization means so much to so many of us, and I’m proud to lead a community that lifts one another up, shares knowledge so freely, and continually pushes our profession forward. I’m excited for the work ahead and grateful to take this journey.”

Since its founding in 1968, members of the Fairfax, Virginia-based association have voted annually to elect their all-volunteer board from among their peers. Dyer will continue serving as RBMA’s immediate past president, while Schaeffer Smith, MPH, CEO of Comprehensive Radiology Services, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, will replace Sanso as president-elect.

Meanwhile, Lisa Woelfel, MBA, chief executive for Bay Medical Management, Walnut Creek, California, will join the association’s executive committee as treasurer. Danny de la Torre, MBA, CEO of Southwest Diagnostic Imaging Center, Dallas, will join her as secretary and parliamentarian. New directors becoming part of the RBMA board include Donald Elting, director of operations for Hackensack Radiology Group, Hackensack, New Jersey; Matthew Ostrum, chief development officer for MBMS, Philadelphia; and Corbin Wilson, CEO of Radiology Associates of North Texas in Fort Worth.

“Our board represents the strength of our community, and these are thoughtful leaders who are deeply committed to advancing the radiology business profession,” Jessica Struve, co-executive director of the Radiology Business Management Association, said in a statement April 14. “They bring a strong mix of experience, fresh perspective, and a shared commitment to moving radiology forward.”

Rounding out the 2026-2027 RBMA board are:

  • Karen Girven, vice president of operations, Lennox Hill Radiology, Kingston, New York.
  • Nicole Jones-Gerbino, president of PBS Radiology Business Experts, San Diego.
  • Thomas Marshall, MBA, associate vice president of revenue cycle operations for RadNet, Easton, Maryland.
  • Erik Rockswold, director of quality measures and clinical evidence, Rayus Radiology Quality Institute, St. Louis Park, Minnesota.

Elizabeth Ann Ignacio, MD, an interventional radiologist with Hawaii Pacific Health, Honolulu, also will serve as RBMA board liaison from the American College of Radiology. The association’s annual meeting concludes Wednesday, April 15.
