Radiology Partners co-founders receive EY Entrepreneur of the Year award

Rich Whitney and Anthony Gabriel, MD, the co-founders of El Segundo-California based Radiology Partners, have received the EY Entrepreneur of the Year award for the Greater Los Angeles area. As winners on the regional level, they are now in the running for the national EY Entrepreneur of the Year award, scheduled to be handed out on Nov. 10.

“We are honored to be the recipients of this prestigious award,” Whitney said in a prepared statement. “Anthony and I both recognize that this award is really a recognition of the amazing work done by the physicians and support staff of RadPartners. This achievement supports our belief that a model emphasizing local physician leadership with national support is the best pathway to advance patient care and improve overall value.”

“I can’t begin to express how grateful and proud we are to have received such a distinguished award,” Gabriel said in the same statement. “We were in good company, with extremely talented individuals in the health industry, and congratulate these parties on being finalists. We’re honored to use this award to inform more people about the exciting and innovative work we’re doing at RP.”

Whitney and Gabriel were presented with the award on June 14. They brought 30 physicians and team members up to the stage with them when the time came to receive the award.

“This award isn’t about what Anthony and I have done,” Whitney said in the statement. “It’s about what all of us are doing.”
