Medical imaging device manager Radiology Protocols named a new CEO July 29 to bring in new, experienced talent to its management team.

Colleen McFarlane, a business professional with a strong background in operations, will be managing the company’s growth through improving sales infrastructure and further developing the company culture, the company said in a statement.

McFarlane previously served as vice president of client relations at U.S. Preventive Medicine, a Jacksonville, Florida-based healthcare IT company focusing on population health management strategies. She has a bachelor’s in biology from Wells College in Aurora, New York.

Radiology Protocols, based in Iowa City, Iowa, develops products focused on revolutionizing radiology department workflow, like a cloud-based platform that assists healthcare organizations meet and comply with mandates, laws and regulations. Users can document, organize and share their practices for imaging procedures instantly over their network.

“I am particularly excited about the solutions that we are bringing to the market that are unique to Radiology Protocols,” McFarlane said in a statement. “The way that RP is positioned in the field of protocol management is unique because our product was built from the technologists' point of view. The products are thoughtfully designed to improve the lives of the technologists, provide standardization across institutions, and impact patient outcomes.”

McFarlane’s appointment will allow company founder and President Stephen Baker to fully focus on product design, development and marketing.
