RSNA 2018 made estimated $160M impact on Chicago
The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) estimates that RSNA 2018’s economic impact on the city of Chicago was $160 million. This is up from the society’s estimate that RSNA 2017 made an economic impact of $130 million on the Windy City.
RSNA also announced that attendance for the big show was 52,985, up slightly compared to RSNA 2017. More than 700 exhibitors participated in the technical exhibition, including 130 first-time exhibitors.
In addition, as expected, artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning technologies played a crucial role throughout the annual meeting.
“In keeping with the 2018 theme, 'Tomorrow's Radiology Today,' the meeting showcased a variety of AI applications and emerging technologies that provide our attendees with the tools they need to be leaders in radiology,” Mark G. Watson, RSNA executive director, said in a prepared statement.
