SNMMI concerned about oncology coverage guidelines

The Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging expressed their concern with an updated list of oncology coding recommendations released by eviCore, a benefits management company.

eviCore will no longer cover vluiciclovinem, choline or GA DOTATE for PET imaging, citing that the scans are "considered investigational and experimental for all indications for prostate cancer at this time." SNMMI will continue to follow the issue and is working with patient advocay groups to formulate a response.
