ACRF working with Rotary International, Imaging the World to install new ultrasound equipment in Uganda
The American College of Radiology Foundation (ACRF) announced Monday, May 7, it is working with Rotary International and Imaging the World to help patients in need in Uganda.
The ACRF, along with various Rotary Clubs from Illinois and Texas, are support Imaging the World’s work to “address excessive maternal and infant mortality” throughout Uganda by helping acquire and install ultrasound equipment throughout the region.
“By working with the Rotary Club and Imaging the World to provide equipment, training and expertise to professionals in developing countries, we can save countless lives,” Howard B. Fleishon, MD, MMM, chair of the ACRF Executive Committee, said in a prepared statement.
“Even the most basic radiology equipment and instruction can make a world of difference in the lives of millions of people in developing nations,” Steve Jambor of Rotary Club of Wilmette in Wilmette, Illinois, said in the same statement.
