Evander Holyfield, Medical Arts Radiology partner to provide care to combat sport athletes

Real Deal Sports & Entertainment, a boxing entertainment and promotion company founded by boxing legend Evander Holyfield, has partnered with Long Island, N.Y.-based Medical Arts Radiology to develop The Real Deal Medical, an initiative that providers combat sport athletes with “top quality and consistent medical care across the country.”

The Real Deal Medical will maintain electronic medical records of each athlete, monitor their neurocognitive function, perform imaging studies before and after they compete and more.

“The whole reason I got into the promotion game was to be the best and to do right by the fighters,” Holyfield said in a prepared statement. “This program will demonstrate to the boxers and the rest of the world that we not only want what’s best for them during their careers, but we want what’s best for them beyond their careers. I really want to thank our committed doctors and Medical Arts Radiology for their dedication and efforts to improve the sport and protect the fighters.”

“We are excited about our partnership with Real Deal Sports & Entertainment and look forward to contributing to the health of the fighters,” Steven Tuzinkiewicz, MD, CEO of Medical Arts Radiology, said in the same statement.
