Ohio imaging provider charged with 25 counts of healthcare fraud
An imaging provider from North Canton, Ohio, has been indicted for billing Medicare and Medicaid for approximately $2 million in imaging services that never actually occurred.
Thomas G. O’Lear, the president of Portabe Radiology Services, was charged with a total of 25 counts of healthcare fraud and one count of false statements regarding healthcare, according to a report from 19 News out of Cleveland. According to the indictment, the fake imaging services were billed from January 2013 to December 2017.
O’Lear forged the signatures of other healthcare professionals to make the services seem legitimate. More than 150 of the services were supposedly provided to patients after they had passed away.
