National Quality Forum seeking feedback on 2 radiology-related payment measures
The National Quality Forum is seeking feedback on two new radiology-related payment measures, with a deadline looming soon.
The Washington-based nonprofit is weighing whether to endorse two metrics submitted by the American College of Radiology. They pertain to the measurement of narrowing in the two main arteries, along with radiation exposure during CT exams.
“[The National Quality Forum] sets rigorous standards before making an endorsement,” the college said in a May 27 alert to members. “NQF-endorsed measures and standards serve as a critically important foundation for initiatives to enhance healthcare value, make patient care safer and achieve better outcomes. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services places great value on NQF endorsements when determining which measures it will retain for programs such as [the Merit-based Incentive Payment System].”
