Radiology of Associates Tallahassee Automates Teleradiology workflow with RamSoft PowerServer PACS

April 8, 2014 – Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Founded in 1961 by Drs D.J. McCulloh and W.F. Lindsey, Radiology Associates of Tallahassee has been serving Tallahassee and surrounding areas for the past 50 years. They have 17 Board certified radiologists on staff with sub-specialties in all areas of diagnostic and interventional radiology for a combined total of over 250 years of experience in Tallahassee. They were seeking a solution to automate their teleradiology business and selected PowerServer PACS for its breadth of functionality and ability to expand to their future business needs.

Bret Timmons, director of IT for Radiology Associates of Tallahassee notes that they were looking for a solution that would automate the acquisition and distribution of images for their teleradiology services. They noticed that PowerServer PACS possessed such features as pre-caching of images and auto-routing as well as unified worklists, all which simplifies access to patient data for their radiologists. “Other features we were looking for included full reporting, 3D viewing and tight integration with other products,” says Mr. Timmons. He adds, “The fact that we can start with our teleradiology work and add on our imaging center work without a major change was a key factor in our decision.”

PowerServer PACS is built on RamSoft’s state-of-the-art single-database platform technology. Its built-in workflow engine automates all aspects of the workflow so users can track the status of all patients from start to finish. It supports all modalities and the workflow is fully customizable to accommodate radiology businesses of all sizes in any location. The web-based platform means PowerServer PACS is available from anywhere with an internet connection so end users never have to worry about losing productivity.

"Unlimited Freedom’ is an important concept for our product development,” says Marilyn Solano, director of sales and marketing for RamSoft. “Every imaging business is unique with their own style and methods and unlimited freedom means we can accommodate their unique needs.” She also adds that RamSoft’s single-database platform with annual study volume licensing provides their end users with the ability to select a solution that fits their particular business model at the time they purchase and implement yet provides them with the flexibility through license changes to expand their study volume or even upgrade to PowerServer RIS/PACS for a full front office solution.
